Five Photos From… Pura Luhur Uluwatu, Bali

The Southern surf mecca of Uluwatu in Bali isn’t just famous for it’s expert breaks and massive waves…

But also for one particularly scenic temple clinging to the cliffs that mark the very edge of the island.

Pura Luhur Uluwatu is one of Bali’s nine key directional temples that’s meant to protect the island from evil spirits. It’s a particularly impressive sight, hanging right on the cliff edges a full 70 metres above the ocean.

And it was even more impressive thanks to the gloriously sunny day we happened to visit on. If you make it to Bali, you should definitely take the trip down South and check it out.

Just watch out for the monkeys! Standard for Bali.

Here’s five of my fave photos from the temple and it’s surroundings.

  1. Pura (Temple) Uluwatu is a truly magical place. The sunset view is amazing from here. Just watch for the monkey family here….as usual keep your food, sunglasses and children safe!
