Weekly Photo Challenge: Window

I’ve decided to use this week’s Weekly Photo Challenge to show some love for China’s tiny gambling paradise Macau…

Being a former Portuguese colony it displays many aesthetic touches reflecting it’s Iberian heritage – none more so than these Mediterranean styled windows.

Decorated with hand-carved wooden shutters and painted in bright pastel colours, this row of colourful houses is a scene you would expect to see in Southern Europe rather than Southern China.

It’s this quirky mish-mash of cultures that make Macau well worth the trip if you’re in the Pearl River area.

And yes, I know there’s a door in this shot too… Until next week!

  3. I’ve been pretty obsessed with taking photos of doors, windows and balconies, but they are always so colorful and unique. Great photo mate! 🙂
